Inspiration File

I know what your thinking...

"Say what?!?!  You haven't done in Inspiration File post in ages Krystal!"

I use to love doing my inspiration file posts and sharing all the great ideas that I find around blogland. Then this thing happened... it's called Pinterest.  It just felt really redundant to share what I'm loving because all you have to do is follow me there are you'll see it!

But, I came upon a blog that I started following about a month ago, and I am in love with her site!  She really is amazing.  So I thought I'd give a little shout-out to Lindsey from Country Girl Home so that all of you can follow her goodness too.

I think the reason that I love this blog so much is that Lindsey isn't afraid of power tools and building... when she can't find what she wants, she just builds here own.

For example, say you want an antique door.... She built one!

Or you want an old window.... yup, she built that too!

Or you need some furniture.... you guessed it, she builds it!

She also is super great about taking basic things and making them awesome.  Like this shelf, it was a super plain Jane little shelf and with a little tweaking she took it to awesome!

And this little baby is half an old media cabinet with legs stolen form a garage sell side-table.  You have to check this post out.... it's hard to believe how this piece started!

Anyway, I could keep going but I think it would be better if you hop on over to Country Girl Home and take a look for yourself.  Tell her I sent you!

(oh, and please click on the original posts on HER BLOG before pinning any images.  She deserves all the credit! Thanks!)

Inspiration File

I wanted to share a couple things that have caught my eye lately...

Did you guys see this cute DIY wall art from Poppies at Play?  I love the idea of putting bead board in a frame.  And of course I'm loving the birds!

And the second thing is I'm loving these "home" blocks with seasonal "o's" from Stick with me Vinyl  Isn't that fun?!  I think they would be a blast to make and would be such a fun gift!

Inspiration File

It is WAY past time I do an inspiration file don't ya think?!  Sorry if you have missed them because I have been a total slacker!

First up, I have loved my fabric flip-flops and plan on making another pair.  So I was super excited when Ashley from Make it and Love it made some too!  Hers are so cute!  My next pair will look very similar.

Next, I'm totally loving this paper wreath!  Laura from Corner House has a fabulous tutorial if you want to make your own.  I particularly love the pops of color from the scrapbook paper.  I'm going to have to put it on my to-do list because it is just too pretty!

I am totally in love with this dresser re-do from Studio 1404.  As in, totally in love!  Everything from the lines to the color is absolutely perfect.  Sigh.... maybe I can find some nightstands with a similar shape to re-do for my bedroom. (hint, hint)

And last, I am so excited about the tutorial from Wonderful Joy Ahead on how to create your own font.  I'm a font junkie so the thought of having a font made by me is a dream.  Doing this asap!

Well, that's it.  Thanks for the inspiration!  Grab a button from the sidebar if you were featured and want one.

P.S.  We had a great WYLTC week!  I love all the birdhouse inspiration and can't wait to see what you all come up with!  The link party is on now, so link away!

Inspiration File

Hello!  I hope you all are having a wonderful day celebrating the Dad's in your life.  We sure are! Its been a busy week and I hadn't had a chance to do an inspiration file but I have a few moments so I thought I'd fix that problem.

First, my cousin Jen send me a picture of a menu board that she created.  The top is a folder that houses all your recipes and the bottom is magnetic.  Brilliant!  I love how the whole thing can live on the inside of your cabinet.  One of my 2011 goals was to organize my recipes and come up with a meal planning system.  I need to get on it!  Jen has a food blog, Something for Dinner, so be sure to check her out if you want some great recipes to go in your folder!

Next, I came across this pallet wall art from Love of Family and Home and I am in LOVE!  She actually built the pallet (which looks super easy) and then modge podged on the family motto.  It is so beautiful!  I'm thinking if I ever get around to doing my bedroom I'll have to make something along these lines for in there.  Great job!

Then, Brown Paper Packages shared her family blocks.  Aren't these the best?!  What a great gift or craft group idea!  I want a set.  It's only a matter of time people!

So that's it!  thanks for the inspiration ladies!  Grab a featured button from the sidebar if you'd like.  Also, if you are looking for more inspiration, you can see what's catching my eye by following me on pintrest.

Have a great day!

Inspiration File

Hello out there!  Did you guys notice that I completely forgot to do an inspiration file post last week?  Oops.  Not worry, this week will make up for it!

First order of business though, we had a great Wood you like to craft? week over at Craft Goodies!  If you missed it, be sure to head over and check all the projects out.  The link party is now open on the WYLTC blog (where it will be held for now on) and we would love to see your take on this month's project.  Remember, you can either do a lantern or link up any wood star project.

On to the features!  First up, I am blown away by this pallet wall from Grand Design.  The color and texture it adds to her bathroom is just divine.  The fact that she reused an old pallet making this project free.... double divine!

There are DIY dessert stands all over the web, but I am loving this take on one from Backless Shirt!  The industrial element is really cool and no one would ever guess that it was homemade.  I'm totally making one.  (for real)

I'm loving these denim placemats from Today's Nest.  They would be perfect for summer bbq's but the fact that you can put a napkin and your utensils in the pocket puts it over the top.  Too cute!

Placemat1

And last but not least, I'm dying to make some fabric knot flip flops! The Mother Huddle is the genius behind this creation.  I have a passion for flip flops and can't wait to make a pair (or three)!  The hardest part will be picking a fabric!

Well, that it! Thanks for the inspiration!  Be sure to grab a featured button from the sidebar of you want.  See ya next week!
